Mary Alice Johnson

August 24, 1933 - December 2, 2016

Mary Alice “Ricki” Johnson, 83, of South Point, OH passed away Friday, December 02, 2016 at Oakmont Manor, Flatwoods, KY.  Funeral services will be 3 PM Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH with Dr. Scott Mann officiating.  Burial will follow at McSweeney Family Cemetery, South Point, OH.  Ricki was born August 24, 1933 in Lillybrook, WV a daughter of the late Jessie Bryan and Carrie Lee Sutphin Burton.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Burton and Clarence Burton; three sisters, Norma Kathleen Cole, Ann Marie Bowyer and Betty McDorman; and a great grandson, Jacob Thacker.  She retired from the Chesapeake Kmart as a Softlines Manager and was a member of Solida Baptist Church.  She is survived by her daughters, Patsy Lynn (Joe) McSweeney and Kimberly (Harold “Bob”) Collins; a sister, Vivian Pugh; three grandchildren, Stacey (Jon) Thacker, Dwayne McSweeney and Joshua (Erin) Collins; a great grandchild, Wyatt Thacker; and numerous other extended family member and friends.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Oakmont Manor and Ashland Community Hospice for their exceptional care and love of our mother and visitors during her stay.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
