CHARLES (SKIP) DAWSON, 66, of Franklin Furnace, Ohio passed away, Thursday, September 27, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, OH. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, OH. Skip was born April 1, 1946 in Ironton, OH, a son of the late Charles A. Dawson, Jr. and Irene Ferrell Conaway. He was a veteran of the Army, the Army National Guard and Air Force, worked as a Foreman at Kentucky Electric Steel and attended South Point High School. Skip was an avid outdoorsman who loved boating on the Ohio River, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Tana M. Hanson Dawson; two sons, Tony (Kimberly) Dawson of South Point, OH and John Dawson of Franklin Furnance, OH; one daughter, Cyndie (David) Chinn of Flat Top, WV; one sister, Linda Stapleton of South Point, OH; one step sister, Mary Ellen Robinson of South Point, OH; one brother, Jay Dawson of Palm Bay, FL; and five grandchildren, Brianna and Garret Dawson, Lexie, Davie and Lakyn Chinn.
